Pomeranian Maltese – Maltipom – Pomanees

Pomeranian Maltese
Maltipom or Pomanees

The designer mixed dog breed of the Pomeranian Maltese is becoming well-known
around the world. They are often called a Maltipom or Pomanees.  This mix generally does well in a high energy home.

The Malitpom is accepted as a designer, hybrid dog by the American Canine
Hybrid Club, the International Designer Canine Registry, the Designer Breed
Registry and the Designer Dogs Kennel Club.

The Pomanees can live to be the average age of 12-14 years old. They grow to
be 13-18 inches in height and generally weigh between six to nine pounds.

Despite the Pomeranian Maltese’s small size they are strong, full of life and
very lively. They can also portray a laid back attitude depending on their home
environment and training. These animals love long walks and an abundance of
exercise.

The non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat of the Malti-pom could be long and straight or wavy.
The varied patterns of colors in the hair might include a few of the following:
tan, white, black, apricot, brown or cream. The coat requires requires lots of
brushing and grooming to keep its attractive appearance.

One thing to consider when looking for a dog or pup of this breed is are the parents purebred and registered? Some times the mom could be half and half and the dad could be either breed. So you would end up with a 75 to 25% ratio.

This would explain the differences in coats that you see when you type in a search for this breed. It may also be a factor in weather the dog will be hypo allergenic or not.

If you are the current owner of one of these dogs or puppies please tell us about your
hybrid canine on our Pomeranian Mix
