POMERANIAN BREEDER

POMERANIAN BREEDER

Purchased my beloved pom from a breeder in Oregon 8 yrs. ago. Before buying I specifically asked about any congenital defects found in breeders bloodlines. IE: collapsing trachea and joint problems, I was assured none existed ever. Breeder deliberately misled me and I bought a beautiful little boy REMINGTON for $2000.00 plus air fare from my home to Oregon to pick him up, over $3000.00 total. FINAL STORY i HAVE HAD OVER $7000.00 IN VET BILLS FOR MEDS, EXAMS, AND PROCEDURES DUE TO THE VERY PROBLEMS i ASKED ABOUT BEFORE PURCHASING MY BABY. He IS NOW, AS i AM WRITING THis, IN SURGERY AT UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIIA DAVIS VETERINERY HOSPITAL IN MAJOR SURGERY TO TRY AND REPAIR JUST ONE OF TWO debilitating JOINT PROblems, a sublux patella rr another to be done on the lr if he heals from this surgery. Surgery is dangerous because he also has a severely collapsed trachea. All these problems are hereditary and the result of a negligent breeder. This surgery is an additional $2,500.00.
NEVER TRUST ANY BREEDER !! HAVE A VET OF YOUR CHOOSING NOT THE BREEDERS EXAMINE YOUR PUPPY BEFORE MAKING AN EXPENSIVE DECISION.
I love my baby and will do whatever it takes for his well being. This is cruel and unusual torture to both the animal and the owner. 8 years of worry and sleepless nights all because of a
negligent and obtuse breeder. Please be careful.

Sorry

Hello,

How is Remington doing? Reputable breeders offer a health guarantee. Did you get one or even talk to the breeder about helping out with the bills?

I had to take the breeders name out of your post, I hope you can understand why. Please let us know how he is doing after surgery.

All the best,

Sandra

thank you for your comments.

I submit, what good is a health guarantee if you have your pet and are hopelessly in love with it. You’re not going to give it back are you? No guarantee pays Dr. bills. thnx j

difficult situation

by: Anonymous

I just wanted to say that I feel your pain. My dog just died from surgery complications. He had a collapsed trachea and we decided to have a stent placed which did help his breathing, but unfortunately, something was brewing before the surgery and he couldn’t fight it. It was a quite expensive surgery and very emotionally painful to go through. We have no regrets, we just wanted him to be more comfortable in his final years. We got him from a local breeder because I cannot afford to pay thousands for a puppy. Before him, I had 2 very healthy poms from the same breeder and they lived long happy lives. When we see these precious little babies, we just want to rescue them all.

MY HEART ACHES FOR YOU. I’M CRYING FOR YOU AS I WRITE THIS. SO SAD.

I SO WORRY ABOUT MY REMINGTON AS HE HAS TRACHEA COLLAPSE.

DO I GET STENTS ?? I DON’T KNOW. YOURS IS THE SECOND TRAGEDY I’VE HEARD OF AFTER STENT SURGERY.

HIS TRACH PROBLEM IS NOT TOO SEVERE AT THIS TIME I PRAY IT STABILIZES. I NEED ADVICE ABOUT THIS PROCEDURE. I CAN’T RISK LOOSING HIM FROM A DECISION I MIGHT MAKE AND BE WRONG.
