Pom’s Nose Is Turning Pink.

by: Rita Rail

In my experience with dogs I have owned and others that I have seen apparently the cause of a pink nose is not enough sunshine. This seems to happen if you live in an area where sun is diminished early in the day or your dog cannot access sunny areas. I have found this to happen especially if you live in the north and then in the spring, the nose will become black again I presently have two poms and have not experienced this with them because they do get a lot of sunlight as they like to look out of the large window to watch people, etc. Take care. Snow Nose

NEW
by: Jethros Mom

Jethro’s nose started getting lighter when he was 3 years old. I was worried that it might be cancer. The Vet told me that it’s called Snow Nose. There is nothing wrong. Dogs with Snow Nose cannot be shown though. Some people have tattooed the nose to make it black again, but it doesn’t last long and judges can tell. Jethro spends about 3 hours a day in the California sun, so the Vet said to use sun block to keep it from burning.
