I went to the vet 3days ago, they gave me antibiotics and medicine for his stomach, but it has’nt helped yet. Can you please give me advice to ease his pain or relieave his stomach cramps. Thanks

My pom has stomach cramps

by: Riota Rail

I have just had my vet get Emily back to normal after having a bout of stomach infection. She had refused to eat for two days and was looking miserable and at times a little active. I thought it might be her teeth. My vet examined her and said it was not her teeth. She was on Small bites and changed it to an I.D. dog food. I always use Hill’s. She ate a little bit after I softened it up along with a few of her Small Bites. She only ate this one time. This did not work, so I tried steaming some vegetables and after the first meal, she pulled out all the green string beans and only ate carrots and yellow beans. The next day, she would have none of this. My vet next advised me to put her on boiled chicken breast and steamed rice. She ate this for two meals and then no more. Her bowels were loose to the extent that she had to have a full bath twice. She then started to bring up yellow bile and a very thick mucus that was very difficult to keep washed off. Emily is a very clean dog and looks miserable when not. She does the airplane ears when she is sick and if I think she has done something wrong. After much consultation with my vet, she decided to put her on a series of antibiotics and a different food. Listed are the antibiotics used: Metronidazole….Losec……Sulcrate Plus and Hill’s a/d Critical Care dog food. After four days, Emily is back to normal. This medication can only be purchased from your vet. Perhaps you can advise him that this treatment worked for Emily if he feels that your dog has the same problem. Take care. RR.
