my granddaughter dropped 6-week-old pomeranian puppy on head. What symptoms should I look for?

Six-week-old Pomeranian puppy dropped 3-feet when my grand-daughter tried to pick three puppies up all at once. The puppy landed on head when dropped. Eating and walking okay but it seems less playful presently. What should I watch for? When the incident happened, the puppy screamed for about 15 seconds like an injured parrot? I watched for eating and drinking changes, seizure activity and vomiting…none so far!

Look for a collapsed trachea… Take to vet because it could eventually lead to death

Puppy Dropped On Head

by: Rita Rail

Sometimes we always think of the worse scenario when something of this kind happens. A very long time ago, my three week old baby boy rolled off of my bed as I sat on it. Mattresses were not made as they are now with strong sides. I panicked cried when I picked him up and telephoned the doctor. My fears were the worse. I was advised to calm down as he explained that a new baby was very resilient meaning that the bones were still soft and to just keep an eye on him, checking him out and making sure he drank well. I really thought I had killed my child. To this day, this picture does not leave my mind but he was fine and as an adult, I am very proud of him! Since your puppy seems to have bounced back except for a sore head which is plausible, I am sure he will be fine. Just keep a close eye on him and if he does not show any difference in his behavior, then he has “bounced” back well but with a sore “noggin” which will go away. From that height, he has been lucky.
