Give it time. It is a normal reaction for a dog to be jealous of a new addition to the family. Eventually, they should bond and become friends.

How To Handle Old Pom with new One.

by: Rita Rail

Dogs and cats came into my home all at different times. There were many. I have not had any issue with this problem by using this method. Never choose only one animal to pay attention to at one time This will cause jealousy. Always include your two to-gether even if it is only to pet him. Never feed one without the other. Remember, they are like children. Jealousy reigns. If you pick up one, pick up the other or call it to be with you or follow you. I have only two Poms at this time after having many animals who I have learned behaved a lot like my children of which I had seven. I now have only Emily, 9 yrs. old and Crystal 6yrs. old. Cyrstal was introduced when Emily was 3 yrs. old. I cuddled them to-gether, fed them at the same time, made sure all was done including both. To-day, they play to-gether always. Jealousy is still there, if I call one, the other comes running to see why I called her sister, she will want attention also. Let’s face it! We have also been jealous at one time or another! Please try this method and do not give up, you will have loving animals, I did with a mixture of cats and dogs who all lived in my house to-gether and would eventually sleep and play to-gether. Take care. RR
