Her Grace, Lady Dolly, Duchess of Barkington

What a gift! I was originally looking for a larger rescue dog (lab mix, etc) and went to see one at a foster event. However, that dog was so traumatized that she wouldn’t come out from under the table. In the meantime, I was sitting in a chair when a darling fluffy Pom jumped into my lap, laid down and gave me a sweet Pom smile. I thought ‘I need to rethink this.’ One month later Lady Dolly came into my life, home and heart. As a rescued puppy mill breeder (she had approximately 4 litters) and already 5 years old, it took several weeks for her to be trusting of us. Speed up one year (today) and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect companion for me and my son. Such a sweet nature, only barks at the doorbell, loves to go for car rides, doesn’t hesitate to approach anyone for an ear scratch, is an unofficial therapy dog at my mother’s assisted living facility, and doesn’t mind dressing up or wearing bows. If I could take her to work with me, I would. I’ve had other dogs in the past (beagle, gray hound, shepherd, mutt) but I will ALWAYS have a Pom from now on.
Sincerely,
Christine Giroir
