We adopted George from our County humane society when he was just 4 months old. We could tell he had been abused because he was so skiddish, even with his food. He loved us from the day we brought him home. It took him awhile to warm up to our home, but he wouldn’t leave our side. He still doesn’t. He will be 13 years old this year. He doesn’t like outsiders much and is not very fond of children. I was very worried when we had our son who is now 5 but they have become best of friends. Honestly, I think my son has made him more confident of people. Teddy (my son) feeds, waters and lets him outside (with mommys help of course) and even gives him his treats. They are best buds. George even sleeps at the foot of his bed. He can be very protective of us. He nipped a friend on the back of the leg because he was being too loud and got too close to Teddy. Luckily this was recently and George doesn’t have many teeth left to do any damage. He is our baby and we hope we have many wonderful years left with our boy!
