Food Allergies for Poms

Food Allergies for Poms

by Chrissy

(reseda, california, USA)

Chrissy is a female Pom born in Dec. 30, 2006 she is 8 yrs old. Chrissy has had severe food allergies since we got her from the breeder. She was flown to California on 2/10/07 barely 8 wks old. I believe those breeders should have their breeding business closed by authorities. I firmly believe Chrissy was too young to be away from her mother. Most likely Chrissy did not get fed by her mother enough to get antibodies in her little body and therefore she does not have a strong inmune system. Breeders should be penalized for doing this horrible treatment to puppies for the sole purpose of enriching themselves. Now back to diet. I have feed Chrissy home made simple boiled chicken, boiled beef, basic cooked rice, expensive holistic food from specialty pet stores and websites. have spent a lot of money with vets and tests that dont’ help. Chrissy constantly is very ill, vomiting, diahrrea, dehydration, you name it. constanly with 3 different vets and hospitals, blood test, x-rays, nothing helps. Chrissy is eating now Venison prescription food and she hates it, she starves herselft and finally after 2 days, she eats a little. constantly on antibiotics, because she gets infections every month, every 4 weeks, trip to Vets, medication, Flagil, antibiotics. etc. i have run out of ideas. please help!

Pom allergies

by: Anonymous

we have a pom who was born in 2008. She has very bad skin irritations to the point she lost her hair and only has hair left on her head, front mane and bottom legs. I just used a shampoo conditioner and treatment that was to help with this condition that made her worse! I read the day after that it had a wheat protein for the B5 ingrediant for the skin! I am wondering if she is this bad from using an external product, then if she is eating beef, chicken, pork, etc that eat wheat, corn, etc., it only makes sense that those items would keep her little body inflamed. So, I wonder if there is a salmon based diet where the salmon are not fed wheat, corn or soy?
