Feeding your Puppy

by: Sandra

Hello,

I wanted to say little Draco is very good looking. I am very concerned though as he left his Mom and family way to young. What was the reason for this? I know sometimes things happen and the pup has no other options but to find a loving home. You can give him cottage cheese as well as some plain yogurt. At most local pet stores you can get Puppy Milk Replacer for him. If you have not already done that. I highly recommend taking him to a Veterinarian to have him checked over and get his 1st shots. You can read about some of the best foods to feed him by using the link to the left click on the Best Dog Foods page. Please come back and tell us how Drago is doing!

Thanks,

Sandra

Difficulty Feeding Puppy

by: Rita Rail

Hi there, I can only tell you of my situation when I purchased my Pom Emily. When I first saw her, she fit in my hand and I have a fairly small hand. Five puppies were born in this litter and the mother rejected them all at two weeks old. They were all being fed adult food as the breeder had fallen onto hard times due to a very sick child. (I wish I could have taken them all!!) This was a Sunday and my vet’s office was closed. I stopped at the pet shop and the best diet I could see on the shelf at the time was “Royal Canin” I had asked for “Eukanuba” which was my preference for any of my new puppies. There was none. She took to this immediately. I had her vet checked the following week and the Royal Canin was approved by my vet until she was old enough to make the change to “Hill’s Science Diet Small Bites”. This was done when she went in for her first needle. She is now 9 and I have had no problems with her at all. Perhaps a mixture of his present food, mixed with a bit of hot water would change his mind. Let it cool to warm. Don’t worry if he does not eat it all as he is very small but offer it about every two hours. This is my suggestion only. I hope it works, perhaps your puppy has some distress. Good luck. RR
