9 Month Old Pom Acting Aggressive and Biting

9 Month Old Pom Acting Aggressive and Biting

by Carys Clarke

(Blackwood, Wales.)

Hi all,

I’ve got a nine month old pomeranian, D’Jango, who is usually a really caring pom and all he ever wants to do is kiss you. Although, recently he’s turned really nasty and aggressive, starting to bite and growl at me when I tell him off.

He is perfectly fine when you take toys off him, or even chewwies, but when you take forbidden objects from him such as stolen food or tissues he lashes out and bites. I’ve tried to show him I’m the alpha male in the pack by holding him down by the scruff, which calms him down but thinks it’s part of playing and then goes to play bite and run around my feet.

I’m at a total loss with this and feel like I’m doing everything wrong as a pom owner, as I’ve had several dogs before but none have acted like this. All help would be appreciated, thank you all!
